Tangram in Merano
Tangram
is a permanent educational agency officially recognised and
supported by the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. The quality
of this service is guaranteed thanks to 20 years of experience
obtained in this field. Tangram has also participated in various
national and European projects on continuous education and on
the use of new technological applications in adult education.
A2:
The multimedia rooms are in welcoming surroundings, with over
24 computers connected to the internet via wide-band Hdsl (2
mega-bytes per second). Professional scanners, both laser and
colour printers and surround-sound speakers are also available
for use.
The agency organizes:
- ECDL computer courses and courses for internet use.
- Conferences on the anthroplology and history of Alto Adige.
- Courses on arts and crafts, on Tyrolean cuisine and issues
relating to health.
- German lessons for pre-school children.
- Courses using distance learning (literature, creating web
pages, languages, etc) from the internet site www.telecorsi.it
, learning either independently or with the participation
of a teacher in the form of Tele-learning.
The agency runs:
- an electronic library which can be consulted at www.tangram.it.
There are over 1100 files dedicated to the history, the traditions
and the customs of the three linguistic groups resident in the
Province of Bolzano.
- the web site www.lamummia.it,
dedicated to the Neolithic Ages in the Alps and to the last
days in the life of the Similaun Man. Here you will find rich
historical documentation and the interactive story written in
three languages "The mystery of the Ice Man", which has been
highly successful amongst lovers of history and which is also
now available in CD-ROM format.

An interactive journey in the neolithic Age to discovery the
last days in the life of The Similaun Man, the famous mummy
found in ice in 1992.
Three floors of possibilites.
Three floors for education, culture and free-time
First
floor: Freelearning The ideal place to learn to use a PC
without time or progamme constraints and with the temporary
help of a tutor. Twelve computers connected to the Internet
via wide-band (2 M/bytes per second), scanners, DVD players,
re-writers, colour, laser and black and white printers complete
the list of equipment.
Mezzanine:
The "Krea" studio is set up for either DVD screenings with surround
sound or for running particular conferences using multimedia
facilities.
Second
floor: ECDL test centre Eleven computers, all connected
to the Internet via wide-band, plotters, DVD re-writer and printers
allow the realization of particular initiatives such as courses
on video editing, video conferences on the Internet, or work
using computer graphics programmes.
Opening times
From monday to friday, open from 9 am to 1 pm and from 3pm
to 7 pm.
